I remember this episode and I found it funny that Stewie couldn't figure out that Peter was still there. Now I know why. He is too young to grasp the concept that Peter is just hiding, but he's still there.

HAHA
Pick a Boo
Its crazy, i think babies get excited from pick a boo because they are surprised by the subject. They may be a part of the brain that handles your excitement and surprise is not fully developed. So it excites or scares them. POOR BABIES

thats funny, because throughout the shows they use alot of this simple things to make something funny. but in stewies case his expanding intelligence is what makes him an interesting person. because he's beyond his years but what also makes it true is that he's stil a baby and there are things that stop him from fully obtaining an overall knowledge. its like what Piaget was talking about in his stages of development, stewie is sattered through the stages but he can't round all his knowledge and experiences together until he passes the stage he's currently in which is being a toddler.

ahahahaha.
PEEK-A-BOO is a game people ALWAYS play with babies. Because at that age, they get such a kick out of it. Having someone there, then theyre "hiding" and then POOF they're back again in a flash. They identify with faces at that stage. When the face is hidden, they can't tell if the person the face belongs to is still there or not. If they idenitified with any other part of the body then the game wouldn't work or would have to be changed. It's about identification. They need to identify with the person's face to know if they're there or not.

this seems like the stage of Preoperational according to Piaget's stage of Cognitive Development.
