Are our superstitions origins rooted in our ignorance, our fear, or just plane archaic common sense that we revive.
from oxford online dictionary:
superstition
• noun 1 excessively credulous belief in the supernatural. 2 a widely held but irrational belief in supernatural influences, especially as bringing good or bad luck.
— ORIGIN Latin, from super- ‘over’ + stare ‘to stand’.
This definition is not as important as the word origin...From the Latin 'to stand over'. Our beliefs , in essence, do do that, they stick with us everywhere we go. Looming over us affecting our decisions, we as a group intend to figure out where these beliefs come from.

That's a really great idea, Stephan. I don't think superstition gets enough credit in this day and age and it would be interesting to really be able to delve into people's deep rooted beliefs that generally have no basis in reality but still hold powerful sway over their lives or base activities.
