Phineas Gage

I was interested in the case of Phineas Gage.

This is one of the first accidents that "contributed" in the further development of the modern psychology.

Thanks to this miraculous accident, scientist starting researching and mapping out the human brain.

Check out this video that I found in youtube.com

I have one opening question that hopefully will open a discussion.
If Phineas Gage didn't have the accident. Would the mapping system of modern psychology would have been different?

do you mean the mapping system of the brain for modern psychology? a more specific question would trigger a better discussion.

Initially, the mapping probably would have been different. But as far as would it be different NOW, the answer would have to be no. We've come to where we are because of our technological advancements. We're not 100% accurate, as nothing ever is, but we're pretty close. I think if we didn't have it right - eventually due to a researcher or new piece of evidence and/or technological equipment or another Phineas Gage case - we'd get it right at one point.
