Psycho Boss!

Has anyone ever had a boss or a supervisor who was just a psycho and needed to be admitted to an institution? Throughout my working career I've encountered a few people who have fit this profile. Do you think that supervisors should have psychological test before they are in charge of groups people who they will influence or mentally abuse during their careers, such as police officers or any agency that is responsible for peoples general well being . I would have to say that after dealing with some of these individuals this article really brought to light how mental abuse is not limited to the home or general situations we think where mental abuse takes place. Let me know your thoughts.

Yeah, mental abuse can even take place in school also. But it has definitely been a big problem in the workplace over the years. Especially in movies or on tv a lot of the time they show bosses yelling and being really nasty and such. In comedies obviously they make jokes out of it to get laughs by making the boss look like a fool. But we all know it really DOES happen. Maybe not as its portrayed in movies/television, but there is some truth to everything you see or hear. I'm sure everyone's heard a story from someone about their boss being a real jerk or something to them. So it would be a good idea to have people take tests before they're given control over others. My chiropractor is looking for a new secretary and one woman who was applying for the job refused to take a personality test, so she let her go. If you're not fit for the job you're applying to or have mental issues or something to hide, then you don't deserve a job where you have to work with others.

My first boss was a manipulative, two-faced little shit and it made for a tense mood in the workplace. But I survived and learned a little more about people in the process.

There are instances when the quality of leadership is crucial like in the military, hospitals, police forces, and schools and such. For these jobs I think there should be tests to assure that the boss is mentally fit to lead a group of people effectively.

My first boss probably shouldn't e a school principle but keeping moral up in his shabby art store was priority number one.

I haven't had a boss who was a psycho, but I've known a few people, such as administrators to schools, who didn't deserve to be in the position they were in. One person, a science teacher, was so wacky, he should have gotten tested for some mental disability. I agree with you that all administrators or bosses should be tested to some extent so that they can prove they are capable of the job they are being hired for.

As a matter of fact, people that are in charge of a team or in a position of power are required to run a psychological test before getting accepted to the job. But the real problem here is that some people suffer psycho problems in the middle of the job.
