Religion an inherent part of consciousness?

click on the title for the link to an interesting article based on Ramachandran's research on temporal lobe epilepsy.
his ideas, which we saw in the video today in class, suggest that religion is in inherent part of human consciousness. what do you think?

I think that religion is enstilled in a person because of family or sometimes because of a major life-changing experience. I find it hard to believe that religion is an inherent part of human consciousness, but everyone has some form of religion taught to them throughout their lifetime.

I agree with amanda, everyone has some form of something which they hold to be true. Sometimes because of dramatic situations, religion can result for an individual. it could just make them beleive more.
