A Little Closer Look at Art Therapy
So after hearing Cat, Shawn, and Jeanette's group talk about art therapy, I went and researched it myself. We actually see art therapy a lot in movies and on tv. I know I've definitely seen it on Law and Order episodes, especially on SVU when something happens to a child. woo hoo! doing our art therapy really opened my eyes to art therapy as well. it's an interesting field.
I think when I was in the hospital, they had us draw and paint. I never realized that it was a form of art therapy until now. It helps to make people feel relaxed and not focus on the illnesses they have, and now that I think of it, it made my time without my family easier to deal with.
