Superstition II

To believe that the world is governed by chance or caprice.

-Robert Ingersoll

Why has superstition remained such an important part of our society? Does it truly make people feel better or do we believe in their validity?
People still believe in the aforementioned statement. They believe that they experiencing bad luck or good luck when a succession of certain events occur. All the while they omit the possibility that maybe good planning caused the good luck or bad planning and negligence caused the bad luck. These types of thoughts protect people from the truth. Recognizing you have planned badly is much harder than blaming a non-existent being for your troubles. While good things that occur boosts your confidence. A recognition from a higher source that notices you are worthy of a gift causes a confidence boost. Superstition seems to be a scapegoat.
