Flashbulb Mem story
I've been thinking about Flashbulb memorys and how it dosnt have to be a world wide experience for it to be remembered so vividly. "Flashbulb memories can also be of personal circumstances during an event that did not affect one personally, such as a leader's assassination or a devastating airline crash." I remember when i was really young, posibly kindergarden my mom got into such a big fight with my aunt that they stoped talking to eachother. I remember my mom was wearing a red shirt and a brown berret in her hair. When she was holding me her eyes were glossy from crying and i was very confused becuase it wasnt often that you see an adult cry (as a child your doing most of the crying), i dont think i even understood the situation untill i got older. I almost forgot i had cousins , but i remember that day pretty well. Eventually, my mom and my aunt reunited and reconciled like two years ago ...it was pretty sweet. It's crazy how far back flashbulb memories can go.

I agree Linnea, I don't think it has to be something national or world wide to have a vivid or distinct memory of something. I think more often than not, people have flashbulb memories with things that were really important to them, but I know for me personally, I don't have to have it personally effect me to randomly remember things vividly.
It is funny how our memories work, like Cat said it doesnt have to be personal for our memories to be vivid. Our memories are selective, keeping things that re not always essential, but what is important to us.
