Hierarchy of Needs

This article is one of  the Motivation theory. It is popular theory "Maslow's hierarchy of needs.' Maslow(1942) the psychologist point our that needs can be thought as a hierarchy. He insists that once a need is satisfied, the next level of need becomes predominant and the satisfied need no loger motivates his/her performance. In this concept, Maslow(1942) has ranked human's needs by 5 levels. The first level is physiological and biological needs. This is the lowest level but of primary importance. The second level is safety and security needs. He defines these two levels of needs as low-order-needs owing to the fact that these two needs are satisfied with external features. The third level is social and belonging needs and the fourth is ego and esteem needs. The last is self-actualization. he asserts that these three levels of needs are satisfied personally with internal factors; therefore, these three needs are high-order-needs.
