Is IQ related to Food?

There is a link between junk food and IQ according to Dr. Jonny Bowden PhD, CNS a board certified nutritionist and a psychologist. According to the research project that took 14,000 children born in the 90's, the test showed three dietary results.
One was very traditional, which is high in meat and vegetables, second was processed which is high in sugar and fat, and lastly, third was health conscious which consisted of lots of salad, rice, pasta, fruit and vegetables.
When the researchers measured the IQs of these children when they turned 8.5 years, the result was absolutely shocking.
The children with the processed diet which is high in sugar and fat had a lot lower IQs than the children's that had the other two diets.
According to the study known as the Avon Longitudinal Study of Parents and Children, it said "This suggests that any cognitive/behavioral effects relating to eating habits in early childhood may persist in to later childhood, despite any subsequent changes (including improvements) to dietary intake...it is possible that good nutrition during this period may encourage optimal brain growth."

I always believed that you are what you eat. Reading this article online, it may me really want to watch what I eat for the future and for my children as well in the future. I also wanted to research in depth of what kind of food specifically stimulates the brain.
