Genius gene?

I read an article about where scientists were researching to see if genius' had some sort of a gene for their intelligence and I always believed that it is a combination of the intelligence that one is born with and also the work that continues to improve. I believe a genius is someone who puts forth the effort and and works hard to earn the term, intelligent. Like for instance, Tiger Woods, pretty much mastered the game of golf and continues to do better, but I feel that he worked very hard for the position and put forth put the effort to become the person that he is today. Some call him a genius and is unstoppable when it comes to the game of golf. He may have some talents but he also put in a lot of time and effort to reach the position that he is today. Many people may argue that genes play a factor with intelligence and according to article, some are just blessed with the genius gene that the brain processes. Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, has gathered the most extensive evidence to date that a gene, CHRM2, that activates signaling pathways in the brain influences one kind of intelligence. It's a gene that's involved in some kinds of brain processing, and specific alterations in the gene appear to influence the IQ. Genes activates a multitude of signaling pathways in the brain involved in learning, memory and other higher brain functions. After reading this article, it made me think about how many people have a talented gift for art. Especially centuries ago, many artists or inventors who are very well known today, were greatly talented with their artworks or inventions, but some were never once taught by others. They just knew what they were doing and because of that we greatly appreciate their artworks or gadgets. Those intelligent artists and inventors were just born with this "genius gene" which they were greatly gifted with.
