Colleges and Universities with programs in Psychology often have websites with good resources for researching psychology. Information provided by universities are generally reliable and also helpful when gathering information about psychology for academic purposes.

Websites like yahoo answers, the facebook Psychology fanpage, and other public forums are not the best places to gather reliable information about psychology. Because the public can answer questions and post freely about "psychology," without regulation, there is no way of telling whether or not the facts presented are true, regardless of how reliable a source seems. For example, although the website psychforums.com seems like it would be a reliable place to communicate and gather information on psychology, visitors should not ignore the box of "mental health links" located on the page that provides links such as Storage Deluxe, Schizophrenia Symptoms?, Camoflage Swimwear, and Brooklyn Piano Lessons.
